CC1354P10: Backward compatibility with CC1120

There is no option to completely disable the sync word for any of the CC131x or CC135x devices.

However, the performance of Asynchronous Mode will likely result in reduced performance.

Thanks for your information. Strangely, my application needs NO PREAMBLE and NO SYNC WORD. All I am going to receive/transmit the length byte as the first byte. All other sync word and preamble was implemented in the packet application payload. Is there any workaround you could suggest ? Appreciate your time.

You cannot have the length as the first byte, and then have sync and preamble as part of the packet. The CC1120 or CC1354 will not receive all bytes of a packet, so there must be something first to at least make the AGG settle, etc.

Please can you share an example packet that you are sending/receiving with the CC1120, along with the register configuration? That would help clarify some questions we have.

We have some radios based on CC1020 and CC1120 with no MAC layer preamble and no sync words configured. All the preamble and sync words are embedded in the application payload. FSK, 9600bit rate, Deviation 4050Hz and RxFilter BW: 30K. 

I found some workaround for the preamble and sync words. But the legacy radios operates in UART mode. I know the UART mode is not available in CC1354, but when I talk to TI FAE earlier this week, I heard there is a mode to allow this "Transparent mode" in CC1354. Can you please help me how to activate or operate the Transparent mode?

Between, can you help me how to use the transparent mode on CC1354 and a GPIO pin to in/out the RF traffic ? Thanks.
