CC1314R10: How to enable 4FSK?

Tool/software:

Looking through the swcu194 nowhere 4fsk or 4-fsk can be found.

The only reference of how to set radio mode is table 26-173. Allowed modes are

0 : FSK

1: GFSK

7: O-QPSK

I gather there is some other trick required to make the radio 4-level (G)FSK. How?

This is exactly as has been told before: CMD_PROP_RADIO_DIV_SETUP.formatConf.fecMode = 9

What is missing is the explanation that this is a subfield within the formatConf, and I have not seen any table that explains what goes into this work.

However, Smart RF studio reveals the various fields, and by looking at the RF carrier with a *VINTAGE* AFM-2 modulation analyzer and a scope I could prove to myself that a 2FSK example changed to 4FSK when I set this parameter to 9!!

Now, FEC means something different than modulation mode to me.........

From Section 26.10.5.2:

The formatConf setting is used for various setup of the packet format...The fecMode setting can be used to change the encoding of the transmitted or received signal.

As TI has not characterised any 4FSK PHYs at the time of writing, this is why it has not been added to the TRM.

Now that I have found out it was not that hard or complicated. However, I think I had a hard time

finding out the secrets though....
