CC1314R10: CC1314R10 standby current with two different oscillators (32KHz MEMS TCXO and 32KHz xtal)

Part Number: CC1314R10

Tool/software:

Hi,

i am using CC1314R10 for my communication module. My query is regarding standby current, so I have two observations which mentioned below.

Observation 1:

When CC1314R10 integrated/ connected with "32KHz MEMS TCXO", then standby current was average 340 micro amperes at 3.6 volt.

Observation 2:

(Hardware) Changed 32KHz MEMS TCXO to "32KHz xtal", then standby current was average 1.7 micro amperes at 3.6 volts.

Now the query is

1. Why these different behaviors with different oscillator and what special things needed to consider in firmware or hardware?

2. How these pins " X32K_Q1, X32K_Q2" was handled in microcontroller for Deep Sleep?

So, kindly give the solution to this problem. If any further information required, let me know.

Thanks

GJ

  • Hi,

What is the part number for the 32KHz MEMS TCXO ?

The TCXO is normally powered with a voltage so this needs to be turned off when not needed otherwise the quiescent current for the TCXO MEMs will be added to the total current consumption. The TCXO is normally powered via a GPIO so this can be turned off when required.
