CC1354R10: Sysconfig support CC1354R10 Sub Ghz

it is great to hear that you tested 433.92 MHz successfully with SmartRF Studio.

Could you tell me which exact PHY you would like to use and for which project/software stack so that I can give you detailed instructions on how to change to 433.92 MHz.

I used the 16.384 kbps, OOK, 100kHz RX Bandwidth, Manchester encoding example in Smart RF studio and then just changed the Frequency to 433.92Mhz.

Ideally it would be simple_peripheral oad off chip - but it appears that the CC13x4 series does not have that anymore. From what I can tell it's been replaced by basic_ble_oad_offchip. You could do the latest SDK with that example.

I think this will not work since BLE is running on the 2.4 radio.

Could you tell me more about the application that you are trying to build? Did you already consider other software stacks than BLE?

We are porting our CC1352R1 project to CC1354R10.

It is a project with uses both BLE (config and OAD) and 433Mhz prop - done using the DMM.

When porting, it's best we start with the same project we originally started with, before copying over our app files. As mentioned, that would be simple_peripheral_oad_offchip - which does not exist anymore. The next best appears to be basic_ble_oad_offchip.

Your project choice basic_ble_oad_offchip is also correct and then you only need to migrate to CC1354R10.

The problem I seem to have when moving to the CC1354R10 from any project is that there is no LP_CC1354R10_rf_defaults.js so simplelink just ends up failing.

I've tried copying an example from the CC1354P10 because I'm aware that for the CC13x4 series we want the ble5stack to run out of flash (ble5stack_flash). But then that leads to another issue where there is no cc1354r10 libraries for the ble5stack_flash.

that is the correct approach. 

For me to replicate the exact issue and find a solution I would need to know which exact CC1354P10 project you imported (CC1354P10 - basic_ble_oad_offchip) and which changes you made in SysConfig.

I used basic_ble_oad_offchip_LP_EM_CC1354P10_1_tirtos7_ticlang. 

I had to make lots of changes to sysconfig.

I had to create the following file (source\ti\ble5stack\.meta\rf_config) - so that I could see the BLE options in sysconfig.

Then I had to make some other changes to allow the selection of 433 in the RF Design element of sysconfig.

Specifically the problem seemed to be that line 360 of rfdesign.syscfg.js was stopping fb433 being an option.

Then I had to make changes to param_syscfg.json for the cc1354r10_prop_pg20, to give a 433 template. 

I that I also create  a prop433 and a setting_tc600_custom.json which gives sets all the 'registers' the same as what Smart RF Studio was doing.

but in the end, there is no option for the cc1354R10 which I can choose for this section.

I'm unsure which OneLib.a and StackWrapper.a I should be choosing. Should it be CC1352R1 or CC1354P10_1 or CC1354P10_6.

since we have no LaunchPad for CC1354R10 you nee to select a LaunchPad where the pinout is matching.

I did that. It doesn't work.

It manages to migrate - but you can't do anything with BLE since LP_CC1354R10_rf_defaults.js does not exist. Also you can't select 433 Mhz in RF Design.

I started with the CC1354P10 software example (you can choose any). I migrate to the CC1354R10 RGZ on CC1352R1_LAUNCHXL. and then I try enable BLE (or anything with Custom/Prop 433Mhz protocol).

This is now using Simplelink F2 8.30.1.01

I apologize for the longer debugging time. I needed to find an optimal path myself.

When you start your project by importing a BLE project for CC1352R1 then you can use SysConfig to configure what you need.

1. Add RF design for Sub-1 GHz: RF Design -> Sub-1 GHz Frequency Band -> 420 - 527 MHz
2. Add 433 MHz PHY: RF STACKS -> Custom -> Add -> Proprietary (420 - 527 MHz) -> define Phy
3. Define DMM policy: MULTI-PROTOCOL -> DMM -> Add - > select correct stacks

I tested it with the simple peripheral oad offchip project project.
Please let me know if this solves your issues.

At what point do I change to CC1354R10 in that SysConfig example?

I apologize again, it seems like this way we get stuck at this point..

With your previous approach you could copy the ti_radio_config.c and ti_radio_config.h from the SysConfig generated files to your main project folder and then disable to automatic code generation for these files in SysConfig.
Then you could overwrite the PHY settings with PHY settings for 433 that you can generate with SmartRF Studio.

I will need to raise R&D support for that to also ensure that we can get around the RF design setting.

Could you please tell me if you are using the 7x7 or 8x8 CC1354R10 ?

RGZ 7x7. Also if they could give an ETA for this as we are looking at deploying this solution early March. 

Ok so I would just find all the files that are generated by doing the a project with DMM (BLE + Custom) with the CC1354P10, and then get the ti_radio_config_* files. Modify them to what I think they need to be for 433Mhz and then disable Automatic code generation for those files?

Then you can replace the part of the radio config for the custom 868 PHY with a radio config from SmartRF Studio for 433 MHz. Keep the rest of the file unchanged as it also includes the radio configuration for the BLE PHY.

You can then also define the DMM policy in SysConfig as usual.

The open issue is then to change the RF Design for Sub-1 GHz to 433 and that is what I will ping R&D for.

1. Smart RF Studio has exactly what we require in the 779-930 Mhz band. 16.384 kbps, OOK, 100kHz RX Bandwidth, Manchester encoding. We just need it to be at 433.92Mhz likely with 10dB output power.

2. We have our own custom hardware on the CC1352R1. But we also have CC1352R1 and CC1354P10 dev kits.

Correct about the project goal.

The reference design didn't fit well with our miniature design so we are using the LFB21433MDZ6F112 with a ceramic loop chip antenna.

Hi Theo. I looked at doing this, but in the end I can't even get Bluetooth working since there are no LP_CC1354R10_rf_defaults.js files in the SDK.
