LPSTK-CC1352R: Simplelink Connect app out of date

Part Number: LPSTK-CC1352R

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have purchased a number of the LPSTK tags to use in a project and following the instructions given here

LaunchPad SensorTag (LPSTK) Out of Box Experience

I have attempted to download the Simplelink Connect app to quickly start using the device. However google play store says that the app is for an earlier version of android and won't let me download it to my phone.

Can you update the app so that people like myself on the latest version of android can use the app and get started working with the LPSTK sensor tag

Thanks,

David

  • Hi !

Could you specify if you're using Android 15 or Android 16 Beta 3 ?
I am personally using Android 15, and the google play store allowed me to download it.

    Kind regards,
    Maxence

  • Hi,

I'm actually on Android 13 Samsung S20. It was updated two weeks ago I think.

Google store doesn't even show it as available for my device, so I have to manually find it on the google web page, that's when it says I'm running an old version.

I'm just updating the google play to see if that is what it means

  • Updating google play didn't help.

Here's a screen shot of the play store error I get

  • Hi !

Sadly I cannot find anywhere the source code for the SimpleLink Starter app.
What I can recommend you to try is to download the .APK file from an APK downloader online, and install it directly through the APK file in order to bypass the google play warning.

If this doesn't work, you could try to bump the version and upgrade yourself the source code of the SimpleLink SensorTag app, which look very similar. You can find the source code for this app here and the git here.

    Kind regards,
    Maxence

  • Thanks Maxence,

    I'll give that a try.

    Kind Regards,

    David
