LP-XDS110ET: CC135x

Part Number: LP-XDS110ET
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1352P7, CCSTUDIO

Tool/software:

The LP-XDS110ET, Launchpad Connector P10, on which pin detects the Target's power?
The custom target board is powered externally.

"IcePick_C: Error connecting to the target: (Error -180 @ 0x0) The controller has detected a target power loss. The user must turn-on or connect the power supply for the target. (Emulation package 20.1.0.3372)"

My understanding is that

  •  Pin3  is a 5V source for the target
  •  Pin 5  is a 3.3V source for the target and the pin on which the current consumption is measured  with Energy Trace.
  • Pin 4 and 6  is not connected on the LP-XDS110ET PCB.

Remark:

On the LP-XDS110ET PCB the Launchpad Connector P10 is reversed: the pin1 on the connector is PIN19 on the PCB.

  • Hi,

    Attached schematic for the LP-XDS110ET:

  • I initially planned to use the XDS110ET as a debugger, UART communication port, and power source (with power estimation) for my CC1352P7 design. However, during testing, I observed instability in the power delivery and measurement.

When powered by the XDS110ET, the system drew 18mA, but the measurements were erratic, with frequent errors. These issues disappeared when I switched to an independent power supply.

Based on these findings, I conclude that the XDS110ET is unsuitable as a reliable debugger and power estimation tool for this application.
