CC1312R: The side lobes are rising excessively

Part Number: CC1312R

Tool/software:

Hi experts,

We inquired at e2e link below and tested it with the way you guided.

(+) CC1312R: The side lobes are rising excessively. - Sub-1 GHz forum - Sub-1 GHz - TI E2E support forums

but there was no change in the spectrum waveform. the side lobes were considerably elevated compared to the normal products.

the e2e link is closed, so i'm asking you as other e2e link.

is there any other way to decrease side lobes?

thanks

  • Hi Robin,

we would like to understand their test setup. Can they share a block diagram showing the connections when they don't see the increase in the side lobes and when they do? Could they please include all components that are used, such as cables, splitters, instruments, attenuators, etc.?

  • Hi Diego

My client is working on the E-meter project using CC1312 and continuously mass-producing it.
However, RF performance was found to be degraded in some cc1312.
So I changed it to rfc_CMD_TX_TEST_t that you guided me and tested it, but the results were the same.

Let me know how to additional test, i will test it and share it with you.

    thanks

  • be degraded in some cc1312.

Meaning that the spectrum has a board to board variation?

I would also test with a CW with a RBW = 1 kHz to get full overview of what's going on. I would recommend submitting the layout for review (Diego can post the exact link), it could be layout related, typically xtal and decoupling on some VDD nets.

  • Hi

on the same board, there is a difference in RF perpormance according to cc1312.

I don't think it's a problem with layout because RF performance is difference depending on CC1312 swap test.

if my customer wants, i will request a layout review.

Also, I asked the custmer to measure CW tone using Smart RFstudio.

I will share the test result later.

    thanks.
