CC1312R: Confirm 4FSK config

Part Number: CC1312R

Tool/software:

We are now ready for the next step in development....

I just want to get a confirmation that if I want to go to 4FSK, the only things I need to modify is fecMode = 9. The rate mentioned is symbolRate, so my assumption

is that by enabling 4FSK, the BIT RATE doubles, (although not for the preamble and (synch??)), but for the payload. Given that other

settings are correct for 2FSK, this should produce valid 4FSK. I also have to reduce the deviation since it is calculated on the INNER symbols.

Right???

  • Hi Gullik,

It is a national holiday so a (useful) response will be delayed until 2nd May.

    Zack

  • Hi Gullik,

    Yes, the bit rate doubles.

There are quite a few settings you would also need to reoptimise; please refer to SWRA682 (Finding Settings for new PHYs for the CC13x0 and CC13x2 Family): https://www.ti.com/lit/swra682

    Regarding the deviation specifically:

For the inner symbols the modulation index should be >= 1/3. Lower modulation index will degrade sensitivity significantly.

Are you able to share your target PHY (data rate, etc.)?

    Regards,

    Zack

  • Sure I can share these, they are basically the same as the 1 Mbps proprietory example.  I will check and come back here. One thing that might differ is that the RXBW is one step lower, since I understand the bw is related

to the frequency and I have moved *higher*. Will share though...
