CC1352P: Wi-SUN electrical performance data

I am interested in understanding how the CC1352P performs while using Wi-SUN, in particular its power consumption across output power and modulation schemes, its power consumption in RX mode, supported FAN, supported modulation schemes, RX sensitivity and link budgets for the supported modulation schemes, and any other relevant information. I am also interested in any test data using this part for Wi-SUN which could include range and application throughput using the TI stack in various outdoor environments such as LOS grasslands and NLOS forests.

Most of this can be found in the datasheet (CC1352P Datasheet: https://www.ti.com/lit/swrs192 ):

The characterised CC1352P7 Wi-SUN PHYs are all 2-GFSK.
RX performance: There is a sub-section for Wi-SUN PHYs in Section 8.10
Power consumption (radio modes): Section 8.6
Power consumption (power modes): Section 8.5

Hi Zack,

Can you confirm whether FAN1.1 is supported on TI's chips, and if so, which ones? The stack overview doc you linked only mentions 1.0, and I don't see anything about OFDM which I'm mostly interested in. I did see this document which mentions 1.1, but that's all I've seen so far.

Hi Kevin,

The currently released devices are not OFDM-capable. Future devices will be, but unfortunately I cannot give information about this on E2E - please contact TI Sales for this information.

Hi Zack,

Could you share any test data for higher data rates than the 50kbps shown in section 8-10 of the datasheet? Can TI's chips operate at 300kbps with FSK, and if so, what sort of application throughput is expected?

Hi Kevin,

The characterised PHYs are available in SmartRF Studio 7: Wi-SUN mode #5 (300 kbps, 75 kHz Deviation, 2-GFSK) is one of them. There are also characterised 1 Mbps 2-GFSK PHYs.

What test data specifically? The datasheet numbers are a summary of the test data from characterisation of the device.

Thanks, Zack. For the 300kbps case, this is the phy rate; what is the expected application data rate? i.e. how much overhead or reduction in throughput is expected using the TI stack, e.g. is it 10kbps at the application level even though the phy is 300kbps?
