LP-XDS110ET: Trouble measuring current consumption of Launchpad

Part Number: LP-XDS110ET
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-CC1312R1

Tool/software:

When measuring current consumption of a LAUNCHXL-CC1312R1 with a LP-XDS110ET it gives a so much higher current value than when I measure it with the internal XDS110.

With the internal debugger:

Same code, using LP-XDS110ET:

In the second case I took off all 11 jumpers in the center of the launchpad and selected Extern power. I connected the two boards using the JTAG connectors (XDS110 Out to Target In).

Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong or if you know the reason of the difference between the measurements.

Thanks

  • Hello Agustin,

I hope you are doing well. The current from your graph does definitely seem to be higher, usually when I test with JTAG I also remove the 11 jumpers (though I may not switch to external power and just let JTAG handle it). As an alternative if you have another board with an XDS you can use jumper wires to connect the other XDS to the board.

    Thanks,
