SMARTRF-STUDIO-7: Smart RF Studio 7 not saving the Configurations correctly...

Part Number: SMARTRF-STUDIO-7
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1200

Hello, I am using the SRFS 7 (v. 2.32.0 ) offline on a Win10 platform to setup the registers configuration of a cc1200 device, and then to export it to my code...

The problem is that if I use the 'Save Cfg' menu command in the tool, it appears I can save my last edited configuration, but if want to resume it later, with the 'Open Cfg' menu command and load the last saved Cfg, the configuration loaded seems missing most of the parameters, or they appear to be even different from the ones I saved... For example the Symbol Rate is always set to 1.2 ksps, of Modulation to 2-FSK while I saved 9.6Ksps in 2-GFSK mode, sometimes it looses the Range extender ( CC1190EM ) settings, sometimes not...Even some registers in the Register View appears to be set to randomic values...

This would  eventually make RED certifications problem fixings impossible using this tool, because, if I want to change even single settings in the registers using this tool, I can not be sure of the result and that no other 'unwanted' registers have been affected...

Any fix to this...?

Am I the only one having this problem...?

Thanks for any support...

Kind Regards

Alex

  • I am able to re-create the issue and will file a ticket for this. Not sure when this will be fixed, so what I recommend you to do is to do a code export instead of saving your config. This way you can at least keep track of what settings you have been testing with (if changing thing from the recommended settings) even if you might need to change the register manually in Studio to re-test with a certain setup.
