Problem in simpliciTI code in Keil project -Peer to Peer connection

I set different adresses for two devices.

you know to check for error I change the code and insert a line to chek for SFD.

I chenge the code :

and also disable address checking in one device, and send a packet from the other device using SmartRF Studio.

but as I check during debug no SFD has been detected and program loops on this line.

Since we haven't tested SimpliciTI with Keil I am concerned that there may be something in the stack that is not being set up correctly.

Whichdemo are you building?  We can start there so I can follow the code you are using.

I am working with smartrf04+CC2431EM and a peer2peer connection between two end devices (2 simple end devices with bi-di). I have made the required config file according to IAR config files. If I have your email I can send the project for you.

We might be able to get you up and running quickly (I hope ;-). 

Take a look at the "smpl_config.dat" file, its under Peer Applications, Configuration, End Device

line 68 has the define:  -DTHIS_DEVICE_ADDRESS="{0x79, 0x56, 0x34, 0x12}"

When two End Devices connect to each other, the exchange this address.  If the address matches its own, the two will not link.

So, build End Device #1, with the default Device Address, then build End Device #2, with a different address (needs to be Hex, 8 characters).

That should allow both to connect.

When you do a smpl_Init, what code comes back to you?  It should be NO_JOIN.

That makes me think the radio is communicating in the MRFI.

Build and run the main_LinkListen.c and then

Set a break point at the main_LinkTo.c on the toggleLED(1) what I am looking for is the return code from the SMPL_Link request (should only be SMPL_NO_LINK)

I have done this, the programs loops here and LEDs toggle from time to time.

I want to ask you one more thing, when the radio recieve a packet an ISR should be called. i set a breakpoint in the first coomand line in BSP_ISR_FUNCTION( MRFI_RxIsr, RF_VECTOR )

but the program never stops at that point.

the result is not SMPL_NO_LINK, it is SMPL_NOMEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:(]

Believe it or not, that was what I was looking for.

NOMEM tells us their is no room in the connection table. 

Most likely this was caused by the way the Keil compiler initialized the RAM or accepted the Define of NUM_CONNECTIONS.

I am not the author of the stack, but I am guessing you can troubleshoot if it's set up by these lines in nwk_link.c:

#if NUM_CONNECTIONS > 0
  memset((void *)&sServiceLinkID, 0x0, sizeof(sServiceLinkID));
#endif

I don't get what you mean, I insert the lines in nwk_linkInit(void) function.

Hi MM,

No need to insert the code.  If the number of connections is valid, then code will be executed (because it will be > 0).  If it isn't we've found your problem.

NUM_CONNECTIONS  is valid, because it is defined in smpl_config file and it's value is 2 for an end device.

If you cannot set a breakpoint at this line:

 memset((void *)&sServiceLinkID, 0x0, sizeof(sServiceLinkID));

Then the compiler is not recognizing your NUM_CONNECTIONS definition.

I was afraid of that.  It sounds to me that something in the stack isn't building correctly.

Probably the best thing to do is download the IAR Tool with the the 30 day demo (IAR.com) and compare the LinkListen process between it and your Keil project.

I am guessing somewhere in the stack the Keil compiler has not set aside the appropriate memory needed for the SimpliciTI link table.

Sorry I can't be of more help, unfortunately I had hoped we could find an immediate answer at the top of the stack versus having to dive into it.

The main reason I switch to keil project is that the IAR demo version dose not work to compile the projects more than 4kB code. so I can't try this.
