Z-Stack and IAR Embedded Workbench

Hello,

I am using a SmartRF 04 EB with CC2430. I use this with Smart RF Studio for the RX/TX test which shows the PER and RSSI per 100 or 1000 or 10000 packets sent.

I need to program the chip so that the RSSI will appear on the hyperterminal instead of in the SmartRF Studio.

I downloaded Z-stack and IAR Embedded Workbench. When I open Z-stack, it says No devices found.

I dont understand how to use the IAR Embedded Workbench as well. Please help? What should I do, initialization, etc, so that I can use Z-stack and IAR?

    Hi,

    The steps to get started are

    1) Install SmartRF Studio ... done

    2) Install IAR.  Make sure you have v7.30B for the 8051.  Done?

    3) Install Z-Stack (the version with examples would be highly recommended) 

    4) Open one of the examples (typicall found in this directory C:\Texas Instruments\ZStack-1.4.3-1.2.1\Projects)

    5) Connect your hardware

    You should then be able to compile an example without problems.  It seems like you are on the correct path.   If you have problems please let us know what Windows version you are using.  Also, whether your SmartRF04 EB is recognized when you plug it into the PC.

    i will have to check the version of IAR that I have installed in school. yes, i have installed smartrf studio, do i need this to be running too while i run IAR and Z-tool?

    the smartrf04 eb is recognized, i have used it a lot of times with smartrf studio for RSSI and PER tests.

    hello,. the version of IAR that i have installed is correct. also, i can now compile and debug with IAR. what my problem is now, i dont know how to run the program that i have written on CC2430 and i cannot open the Z-tool. it still says No Devices Found.
