Newbie: Testing CC1110DK ?

Greetings,

I have been just given a couple of CC1110DK kit's and was asked to experiment with these development kits. I was wondering if there was any sample test applications available ? Also would I be able to send IP traffic (e.g. icmp ping ) through the transceivers ? What would be the best way to test the setup ?

It looks like the two CC1110 DK's that I am using have that example software running on them. I was able to set the development kits up either as a receiver and or transmitter and sent packets.

I am still a little "foggy" on what I can do with the SmartRF studio.

Again I am a newbie so just trying to get my feet wet with the kit's. What I would really like to do is have a couple of PC's attached to both development kits and actually pass (e.g. ping) traffic between the two PC's using the CC1110's as my transport, not sure if there is any open source programs to achieve this ?

Do you by chance know if there are any other forums that experiment with the CC1110"s ?

Hi,

You can use SmartRF studio to generated packets for example with SimipliciTI format. SmartRF Studio can also be used for RF evaluation.

I only know about one forum with discussions on CC1110 and that is www.allaboutcircuits.com
