Can 2 End devices running simpliciti communicate in low power mode ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SIMPLICITI

Hi,

Can two End devices (ED) exchange data over Simpliciti protocol if both go to sleep and wake upon timer/external events ?

If I grab it right there must be an 'always on' AP involved. Am I right ?

Thanks in advance for any advice

  • Yeah, the AP is needed to store and forward the packets between the sleeping nodes. Otherwise you would miss packets while a unit is asleep. The only other option would vbe a Wake on Radio mode. Lowest power for that would be a radio chip that supported RX sniffing but it still draws a few micro-amps.
