CC Debugger with SmartRF05EB and CC2533EM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2533

Hello,

I am using SmartRF05 EB with CC2533EM.

I succeeded to install all the tools, program new FW for bootloader and CC debugger.

Then I successfully compiled UART bridge example and downloaded it to the EM using IAR.

I see that I have ability to debug the application from IAR.

However, my CC debugger doens recognize the CC2533 chip.

I have connected it to P3 (or P4) connector, but I get "No chip" at SmartRF studio application.

I was trying to Reset CC debugger and the board - no results.

What can be an issue?

  • Hi,

The SmartRF05EB is a debugger itself, you do not need to use both a CC Debugger and a SmartRF05EB to debug a CC2533.

    • SmartRF05EB + CC2533EM in the EM connectors (P5 and P6 on SmartRF05EB) should detect the CC2533.
    • CC debugger + CC2533EM (mounted on e.g. the SoC battery board) should detect the CC2533.

If you are having issues with your CC debugger, please see sections 8.3 and 8.4 of the CC Debugger User's Guide (SWRU197)

    Best regards,
    ABO
