We would like to consider a star network with the Access Point configured as an ED.

The reasons for this are:

1.  The AP is battery-powered (the Chronos watch).  As an AP, the watch battery drains within an hour.

2.  The ED's are battery-powered (a network of sensors).

Is it possible to have an ED "listen" for connections from multiple EDs?  Can SimpliciTI handle this?

    Hi,

    I believe the reason your AP's drain the battery so quickly is that they are listening (receiver turned on) all the time. If you have your ED's listening all the time, they will probably experience the same problem.  You might want to look into Wake On Radio (WOR) functionality. I've never used it, but from what I understand, the AP could have the receiver off for most of the time and occasionally turns on to see if any ED's are sending data.  The ED's may have to send multiple packets to ensure that the AP receives it.
