Downloading the EB bootloader on the CC Debugger

Hi all,

I have two CC debuggers. one is not working and another is working

so. I've tried to download the usb bootloader(usb_bootloader_srf05dbg.hex) on the dead CC debugger using another CC debugger.but it failed.

how can I resurrect a dead CC debugger ?

 I did

   1. Connection two CC debugger as Fig16 on CC Debugger User's Guide.

      then, dead debugger's LED is Yellow(both LEDS on). and working debugger's LED is Green.

   2. SmartRF Falsh Programmer

     Program Evaluation Board  , EB bootloader, Device(SmartRF05EB, Fast), Flash image is  usb_bootloader_srf05dbg.hex

    and, I can see one CC debugger's information(EB ID, chip type(CC2511), firmware ID, rev).

 3. Perform Actions

   when I select "Erase, program and verity", then I can see error msg ("CC2511 - ID9943: Error in HEX file verification") and dead debugger's LED is off.

  when I do Erase, I can see two diffrent msg

    one is "CC2511 - ID9943: Erasing flash...", dead debugger's LED is yellow.

   other is "CC2511 - ID9943: Erase and program OK", LES is off.

    Hi,

    The steps you list sounds to be the correct ones for resurrecting a CC Debugger.

    What version of the SmartRF Flash programmer are you using?

    Can you measure VDD on the dead CC debugger (when the other CC debugger is not connected)? VDD shoud be 3.3 V.

    Hi

    I installed "Setup_SmartRFProgr_1.12.6.exe"

    and Vdd is 3.28V without other CC debugger

    I wanna use diffrent bootloader files. can I ?

    Resurrecting the dead CC Debugger should be done as described in section 8.4 of the CC Debugger User's guide (swru197).

    You should program the dead CC Debugger with the usb_bootloader_srf05dbg.hex image, typically located in C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Firmware\CC Debugger

    As already mentioned, I did use the "usb_bootloader_srf05dbg.hex"

    then, Is there anything I can ,to resurrect the dead CC debugger?

    Can I download earlier versions of bootloader or SmartRF Flash Programmer? 

    I have latest version of them.  I want to use diffrent versions of hex file.

    Hi,

    I don't think the bootloader is the problem here, it sounds like your CC Debugger is indeed dead. In any case, I've attached the previous version of the CC Debugger bootloader for you to test.

     I've added you as a friend on E2E - if you send me your shipping address in a private message, I'll send you a new CC Debugger.
