RSSI problem because of changing TX power value

Hello,

We have MSP-EXPCC430RF4 evolution kit. We are using SimpliciTi for our application. We have satellite Tag(CC430F5137 - End Device) & base board(CC430F6137 - Access point).

Satellite Tag sends ping to Base board for some interval & we see the RSSI value on Base Board's LCD as well as on serial port monitor.

If we are going to change TX power value (0x50 - 0 dBm) according to CC430F6137 datasheet then we are getting same RSSI value at different distance.

We have taken some readings in open space. We note that RSSI value is same for 30 m , 40 m , 60 m & 90 m.

In default SimpliciTi application code , TX power value is by default 0x8E (0 dBm) which is for different RF module. If we load this default application code then it works good.

So how can we change the value of TX power?

Is there necessary to change Radio registers value if we are changing TX power value?

Any help in this case is appreciated.
