Recommended maximum power supply ripple/noise for meeting CC1120 specified sensitivity.

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a maximum Vp-p ripple on the CC1120 supply rails for meeting the receivers specified datasheet sensitivity ? If using a switcher (such as one from TI or AD) one should keep ripple below what recommended value to ensure (maximum supply rejection and ) maximum receiver sensitivity possible is achieved as per datasheet ? Are the internal regulators (if existing) enough for ensuring good power supply rejection for use with efficient buck/boost regulators ? Any thoughts or advice on this ?

We don't have any numbers for this. We have done measurements with TPS62730 (http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra411/swra411.pdf) with good results.

I am also interested in this. Do we have any application note which describes the influence of power supply to the sensitivity?

Hi,

Yes thanks that's allready a good start for a reference to go by. Often these things are forgotten as most radio evaluation kits assume linear regulators mainly. This is not always a possibility depending on the end-product use of a radio chip.
