CC1190 control signals - series resistors

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1190, CC1120

Hi,

are the series 10k resistors on the CC1190+CC1120 EM for the control signals; LNA_EN, HGM and PA_EN, necessary when connecting them directly to an MCU? I guess the reason why they are present on the EM is for ESD protection due to the human touchable pinrow or perhaps it is used as a current limiter if interfacing to 5V logic...?

Regards, HC

  • These resistors where added in early stage of debugging the chip and I do recommend you to keep them. In one extreme case, we had a customer provoking a high current consumption for these control lines, so thus, these resistors are there for protection yes.
