Hi,

I'm trying to find a document which explains how FEC is implemented in CC1200. I know it is a "Non Recursive and Non Systematic Code" (NRNSC) encoder compatible with 802.15.4g standard (which is different than FEC implementation in older modules such as CC1100), but I haven't found any helpful document about it yet.

I would appreciate any help regarding this. Thanks.

There is information on the FEC implementation on this CC120X User Guide below. Section 5.3 of the document should help you with what you're looking for.

The description of the FEC in the 802.15.4g standard is the spec of the FEC used in CC1200. The FEC in CC1101 is equal except for the inverters show in the figure in the spec.

It would seem that using FEC would provide sufficient whitening. Does it make sense to use FEC and whitening together?

CC1200 does not require perfect white data so FEC would give sufficient whitening.
