CC1120 configuration no tx

This Q' is duplication of this Q' (I guess Siri missed my post so I'm created this new one).
We are trying to solve this issue for OVER A MONTH

We are using CC1120.

What we are trying to achieve is to have a set of 3 configurations (working = valid RSSI readings + transport of data is OK):

  1. Unit A: they only do Tx according to the smartRf configuration for packet Tx (12 bytes preamble + 915 mhz + 4GFSK + Symbol rate 62ksps ).
  2. Unit B: they do Sniff Rx + packet Tx (12 bytes preamble + 915 mhz + 4GFSK + Symbol rate 62ksps ).
  3. Unit C: they do Packet RX and packet Tx (12 bytes preamble + 915 mhz + 4GFSK + Symbol rate 62ksps ).

What do we need?

  • We need that unit type A could talk to both Units type B & units type C.
  • We need that unit type B could talk to units type C.
  • We need that unit type C could talk to units type B.

When using Siri's configuration from here answer  & switching from sniff to continues RX, using the smartRf tool we get configuration errors:
The XOSC2 & SETTLING_CFG.FS_AUTOCAL are both marked ONLY since the smartRf tool set it up when moved from Siri sniff configuration to the Packet Rx.
Unsetting those doesn't fix the issue. 

Could we kindly receive a working configuration that can do the 3 points in bullets while keeping the constrains 1,2,3?

  • - Which RX_BW/ deviation requirements do you have? For 62 ksps zero IF probably should be used, if you start from the 200 kbps in SmartRF Studio and change the datarate/ deviation you will probably get more robust settings

    Thank you for your replay.

    Unfortunately this configuration is not working and doesn't answer our needs(we have 3 roles:  TX, SNIFF+ TX and RX+TX) .

    About 3 months ago we realized that we can't establish sniff+200kpbs and valid rssi  following your recommendation we changed configuration to: 124kbps bit rate, 4GFSK 12 byte preamble.

    Everything is working beside the TX of the RX+TX device.

  • How do you know it's not sending anything?

    If you have the receiver in cont. Rx and look at the RSSI graph do you see some energy on the air?

  • You can use the same register settings in both TX, RX, and RX Sniff mode with one exception.

    When using RX instead of sniff mode you must turn off CS termination.

    I used the Siri_Sniff_Mode_RX_changed_PreabmleCFG1_to12Bytes.xml and changed the preamble to 12 bytes.

    I have modified the CC1120_rx_sniff_mode example so that it uses these settings for TX, RX and RX Sniff Mode. The code example is attached.
