CC112x usable frequency ranges

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1125

Hello to the TI experts,

I have been asked to design VHF/UHF transceivers based on the CC1125 chip, but working slightly outside the standard bands described in the data sheet. In this specific case: 240 to 300 MHz and 320 to 360 MHz.

Apart from RF in/out impedance matching issues, does the internal VCO (plus LO frequency divider) accept these tuning ranges?

This leads me to ask more generally (just in case, for future special applications): how much far away from the different standard ranges can the LO operate?

Thank you very much in advance!

Alberto

  • The frequency bands stated in the datasheet is set from the tuning range on the VCO.

If we had been able to cover a larger frequency range over temperature, voltage and process variations we would have done so. It could be that you are able to cover some MHz outside the bands stated in the datasheet when you test in the lab on room temperature but if you want stable result over the lifetime of your product use only frequencies covered by the datasheet.
  • Thank you very much.
