Sub 1 GHz IC for time synchronization

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1101, CC1120, CC1200

Hello all,

I would like to know is there any transceiver IC that can be used for precise time synchronization.

We are looking for IC that will allow to transmit data by the external trigger with low time delay and low jittering. The low jittering is more important for us (if delay is fixed its ok).

Also it is preferable to have multiple frequency bands for transceiver.

  • To understand the system better: Why is low delay and jitter important? Vs having an accurate timestamp as part of the payload.

The time from a STX strobe to the first bit is on the air is deterministic since it is digital circuitry that sets the delay. The actual delay from strobing Tx to the first bit is on the air is not something we measure since for most customers it's not important exactly when the packet is on the air. Hence we have never actually measured the jitter.

    Look into CC1101, CC1120 or CC1200
