MAC protocols for sub-1?

I am totally a beginner with this standard. I was wondering if someone can help me with the available MAC layer protocols for sub-1 GHz. I would like to know how and where to begin for MAC layer protocol development in sub-1GHz.

Later this spring we will have TI-MAX 2.0 which will provide sub 1 GHz MAC support for CC13xx.

The release date is not set and I don't know of a way to get an automatic notification. I think you have to poll our web site now and again from mid Q2.
