About LAUNCHXL-CC1350

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-CC1310, LAUNCHXL-CC1350, CC1350, CC1310

Hello.

http://www.ti.com/tool/launchxl-cc1310

According to the LAUNCHXL-CC1310 URL, It is written following sentence.

"Broad band antenna supports both 868 MHz ISM band for Europe and 915 MHz ISM band for US with a single board."

And ordering number is LAUNCHXL-CC1310 only.

But,LAUNCHXL-CC1350's ordering numbers are LAUNCHXL-CC1350US and LAUNCHXL-CC1350EU.

http://www.ti.com/tool/launchxl-cc1350

Could you tell me why LAUNCHXL-CC1350's ordering number is separated?

LAUNCHXL-CC1350US supports Japanese band(920MHz)?

Please help.

Regards,

Uchida

  • For the launchpad the PCB antenna matching components (shunt L and series C) are different. Hence, seperate ordering numbers. US version supports 920 MHz Japanese band
  • Sverre ,

    Thank you for your reply.
Can I ask one more question?

However LAUNCHXL-CC1310 supports both 868 MHz ISM band for Europe and 915 MHz ISM band for US with a single board,
why does LAUNCHXL-CC1350 can't support both ISM bands for Europe and US with same rayout?
I think LAUNCHXL-CC1350 can also support both ISM band for Europe and US with a single board like LAUNCHXL-CC1310 .
Please tell me reasons why LAUNCHXL-CC1350 can't it.

    Regards,

    Uchida
  • The CC1310 Launchpad uses an antenna that covers both 868 MHz and 915 MHz. The sub 1 GHz antenna used on the CC1350 Launchpad doesn't have the required bandwidth to cover both 868 MHz and 915 MHz. Using the same antenna as on the CC1310 Launchpad in combination with the 2.4 GHz antenna would require a much larger launchpad, hence the use of different antennas on the two.
  • Hi Sverre,

    Thank you for your reply.
    I understand.
