cc1310 postamble

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1310, WMBUS

Hi all

I am using cc1310 but I am wondering that " does cc1310 have postamble when transmit data? and how many bytes postamble?"

because I read datasheet cc1310 but i can not see  where postamble was writen

can you help me?

Thanks and Regards

Thanh

  • No, the CC1310 doesn't send postamble with default patches. What is the background for the question?
  • Dear TER

I ask about postamble because I want to transmit and receive  between cc1310 and SPIRIT1 , while SPIRIT1 have used postamble

    Thanks and the best regards

    Thanh

  • As far as I can see from the datasheet SPIRIT1 only sends postamble using WMBUS. CC1310 sends postamble if using the patch described here: www.ti.com/.../swra522

  • thank for your support
i tried and i could transceive between cc1310 and SPIRIT1 , but there is a problem , that received data lost the first byte although i set RF_cmdPropRx.pktConf.bVarLen=0

    the best Regards

  • I would need a much more detail description to have a chance to help you.
    - CC1310 setup, SmartRF Studio setup file would help.
    - The exact packet you send
    - The exact packet you receive.

As a sanity check: On CC1310, set a 16 bit sync 0x5555 or 0xAAAA dependent on the preamble you send. Set fixed packet length to something larger than the length of the SPIRIT1 payload. You should now see the full packet when receiving. Does this correspond with what you expect?
  • Dear TER,

I really thank for your support,

I tried to do things as that you support but i still can not receive enough data i send from SPIRIT1, that is lost the first byte

and when i change symbol rate from 100k baud down 50kbaud , i can transceive WMBUS between 2 cc1310 together and between CC1310 and SPIRIT1.
i am wondering that cc1310 can transceive only with symbol rate 100kbaud?

i look forward to your help as soon as possible

    the best Regards!

  • It's difficult to help you out here since you don't show any details of what you are doing.

WMBUS uses 100 kbps or 32 kbps, 50 kbps is not a WMBUS mode so I'm a bit confused when you say you actually transceive WMBUS on this rate.

Also I don't understand your question, in one sentence you say that you manage to get communication on 50 kbps and in one other sentence you ask about if it's only possible to communicate on 100 kbps?

CC1310 supports from about 2 kbps to 500 kbps running GFSK.
  • Dear TER,

i have a project that i use transmit and receive data from 1 CC1310 to other CC1310 by T1 mode in WMBUS mod and i configurate RF following " " www.ti.com/.../swra522a.pdf "" with 100kbps symbol rate, therefore i can transmit and receive data by T1 Wmbus.

But with that configurator and i only change symbol rate 50kbps , then i can not transmit and receive data again

Thus, i can not understand why i can transmit and receive data when i set  only 100kbps  but with other symbol rate that can not???

although CC1310 supports from about 2 kbps to 500 kbps running GFSK.

    do you understand my problem?

i hope that you can help me

    thanks and best Regards!

  • if you are using the patch provided in swra552 this is only for WMBUS C and T mode which uses 100 kbps.

CC1310 can use a lot of PHYs. The phy I referred to is described in 23.7 in the TRM. The patch described in the app note is a different phy and for this only the datarates supported by that given patch can be used. Since 50 kbps is not WMBUS T or C mode this is not supported by the patch described in the app note.

  • Dear TER ,

    i understood my problem

but i don not know what is PHYs and TRM?
    could you explain for me?

if i want to use T1Wmbus with 50kbps or other symbol rate how should i configurate CC1310?

    thanks and best regards!

  • PHY: Physical layer
    TRM: Technical reference manual (www.ti.com/.../swcu117f.pdf)

T1 WMBUS is 100 kbps, please refer to the WMBUS spec. If you want to run on 50 kbps you are not using T1 or WMBUS. So the question is why do you want to use 50 kbps?
  • Dear TER,

    thank for your reply

i want to use 50kbps because i want to transmit  data farer than using 100kbps

may be i wil use other way

    The best Regards!

    Thanh

  • If you want to use 50 kbps, select this using SmartRF Studio and do a code export.
  • Dear TER

    thank you for your help
    I will find other way

    The best Regards
