CC1310: CC1310 Range issue with SE2435L

Part Number: CC1310

Dear sir,

I am using CC1310F128RSMR chip set.,we designed the PCB asp per TI guidelines ,when i am going for point point testing  i am  getting upto 130 meters.

But for better improvement  we designed separate PCB with CC1310F128RSMR+External Power Amplifier SE2435L chip set( TI ref design swra505a .pdf ), i am getting only 180 meters.

what are settings can i do for better range.please help.

Regards,

Rajesh

  • In the excel sheet pointed to in this post: e2e.ti.com/.../375556 you will find a tab on how to debug poor range. Please go through the checklist and report the findings.
  • What TER said.

On your transmitter what is your data rate, deviation, and tx power? Are you using carrier sense or sniff, if so, can you share your commands and adjustments the program makes before sending them?
What are you using for a receiver? Another 1310? If so, same questions as above.

How are the receiver and transmitter oriented, and is there anything near them? Specifically are the antennas very close to metal, or a human or animal...?

Also, did you manufactur your boards with impedance controls? If so can you share what you requested, and did you test them on a VNA to verify the manufacturer met the specs requested?
