CC115L: Star Network with CC115L and CC113L

Hi all,

I would like to implement a star topology with multiple CC115L as transmit nodes (upto 200 nodes) and single CC113L as a concentrator node. I need to distinguish each transmit node (may be using a distinct NODE ID) and monitor the RSSI level of every transmit node. Is this feasible at all? (considering the modulation type and Transmitter/Receiver compatibility)

Kindly let me know, if there are any reference implementations from TI for the same.

Hi Ashwini

This might be difficult to achieve when using CC115L as transmitter nodes. When having as much as 200 units transmitting in a system, you usually need to implement some kind of Listen Before Talk, to make sure that your transmitters are not sending at the same time (jamming each other). To implement LBT, the nodes need to be able to receive as well as transmit. If you use CC110L instead of CC115L as the transmitting nodes, this would be possible.

Thanks for the reply. Is CC1310 (Sub-1G Transceiver with MicroController) be suited for a Star Topology network with 200 Transmit Nodes (with distinct Node IDs) and a single Concentrator node?

You can look into the 15.4 Stack (www.ti.com/.../simplelink-cc13x0-sdk) if you don't want to develop your own star network.
