CC1350: What is the difference between LAUNCHXL-CC1350EU with LAUNCHXL-CC1350US?

The LAUNCHXL-CC1350 comes in two versions, with RF front-end match optimized for two different frequency bands:

LAUNCHXL-CC1350US is optimized for 915 MHz operation under FCC and will work well in Japan
LAUNCHXL-CC1350EU is optimized for 868 MHz operation under ETSI and has been CE certified for operation in the EU

ok, I am Chinese and use it in China , I want to buy it, i should select LAUNCHXL-CC1350US ?

Does it mean that LAUNCHXL-CC1350US doesn't need FCC certification? It is written on the board that it is only for evaluation. If we want to make a product, would sensortag be better? Are they fcc approved?

You would need to FCC certify your product regardless of what reference design/kit you base it on.

Indeed the entire product has to be certified. The confusion I has was why the launchpad had been explicitly marked with a warning "for evaluation only: not fcc approved for resale". Sensortags do not have such marking.

Hi Mobashir,

When the SensorTag was developed it was an FCC requirement that evaluation boards had to go through official certification. The requirement has changed, and we do not perform certification on eval boards any more. That being said, we do of course do internal testing on all HW to ensure the requirements are actually met.
