CC1200: CC1200 compared to CC1120

Part Number: CC1200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1120,

Hello,

We have a design that uses CC1120 as RX and CC150L as TX.

We are using the CC1120 for RSSI measurments and it has a known errata that the RSSI measurments are inaccurate in datarates higher then 100kbps (or some other lower rate).

We are considering to replace the CC1120 with CC1200 in order to increase the data rate.

Questions:

- Is the CC1200 RSSI measurments accurate at 200-250kbps (2GFSK)?

- Obviously we will need to change the smartRF configurations but will we need to change any thing else in the firmware code?

- Is the CC1120 and CC1200 same foot print?

Thank you

  • Hi,

I can answer part of your post. only

Yes, CC1120 and CC1200 has the same foot print. But you need to use 40MHz Crystal for CC1200. Capacitor value on the LPF pins also different from CC1120.

What is the RSSI accuracy you are looking for?

    Thanks,
