cc1350: US assembly house won't build CC1350 boards due to US export controls ?!?

Part Number: CC1350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1310,

Hi,

Our assembly house (CircuitHub.com) notified us that they can no longer produce for us boards with a CC1350F128RSM because it's subject to export control. Here is what they wrote:

"This device has an Export Control Regulation placed on it by either the the US Department of State/ Commerce that disallows us from exporting these devices outside of the country."

To say that this is a major setback would be putting it mildly. We did not have problems with CC1310 (maybe that's on the way too?) or with MSP430s and CC1101s. In fact, we are using CC1350s only because there is no stock of CC1310F128RSM.

Can TI advise us how to proceeds, whether the assembly house is wrong about the regulations, and if not, how do they and us obtain an export license?

Thanks, Sivan Toledo
