CC1310: How to design antenna for 867Mhz for indian context

Part Number: CC1310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1190

I want to design a CC1310 based wireless sub GHz network on our campus, in India. But 868 Mhz is not unlicensed (open) spectrum. Will I need to change the design of antenna for 867 Mhz.

I want to use Johansson Balun interface with an SMD antenna and will follow the same reference design provided both in ti.com and www.johansontechnology.com/. Will it work or I need to modify my design?

  • Hello,

Antenna frequency can be tuned using L and C components between balun and antenna. Please add place holder for a PI network with 3 components between balun and antenna on you board and use these compoenents to tune the frequency on your application.

    Regards,
  • Thanks for the information, can you share any design or where can I get the information for pi network for sm antenna (smd)
  • Please refer to the CC1310 launchpad design, components C34, R12 and C58 are used for antenna matching. You can start with zero ohm for series component and leave the shunt components unpopulated. These components can be populated if needed after measuirng impedance on your board.
  • Thanks SVS,

I will design the board and measure the impedance of the board. If I have any queries, I will come back to you.

One more thing, do we need to go for certification for CC1310, before deploying our system in real world.

iM880B-L is saying they are certified products of the LoRA implementation in India. If I develop my system using CC1310 & CC1190, I think we can achieve the RF performance. Can I implement the system in India.

How CC13-90 combo is different from iM880B?
