LAUNCHXL-CC1350: Missing TI Firmware for Node

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC1350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1350

The following getting started guide for the CC1350 Launchpad: dev.ti.com/tirex/#/?link=Development%20Tools%2FKits%20and%20Boards%2FCC1350%20LaunchPad in the TI Resource Explorer states:

Create one (or more) CC1350 LaunchPad(s) to act as a dual mode sub-1GHz/BLE beacon Node:
1. Click "select FW file"
2. Scroll down and select "CC1350 Launchpad vx.xx (BLE) Node (y version)" (x= version number y= EU or US). Note that in order to see the complete file name you might need to use landscape mode (on iOS) or click the device name (on Android).
3. Wait until you see FW Upgrade successful message box.
4. The device will reset and start running the new firmware image. If device does not reset automatically, press the reset button.

I have followed all preceding steps, but that firmware image is not listed in available options for my launchpad.

Launchpad firmware version is 1.11 (Sep 22 2016), and I'm using Android SensorTag.

Thanks for any pointers.

  • Answering this myself, might help someone in the future. The listed firmwares simply don't have the right description. The firmwares are listed thus from the top:

    Concentrator EU
    Concentrator US
Concentrator EU <---- presumably the EU Node firmware
Concentrator US <---- this is the US Node firmware

Surprised this hasn't come up a million times. Would be nice if it were fixed.
