Problems with changing the CC2500 to CC2520

We have a data collection system we developed using the CC2500 based on the Simpliciti Temperature collecting application. We need to offer hardware with a higher temperature spec than the CC2500. We are considering the CC2520. We are using IAR and plan to use a bigger MSP430 than the one supplied in the demo kit. Please advice on the dificulty to move the code into the CC2520. We do not see many references to Simplicity apps using the CC2520. Is this a good move? Please advice.

The latest release of SimpliciTI (version 1.1.1) has support for the CC2520 and MSP430 included: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/simpliciti.html

I have researched the simplicit folder and understand that it supports the CC2520, that is why we are considering the change. What I am looking for is a Simpliciti sample project for IAR that uses the CC2520. That way we can study the include files and configuration needed.

You probably know already, but be advised that the CC2520 and CC2500 are not air interface compatible. So even if you run SimpliciTI on both platforms, you will not be able to communicate between a CC2500 based node and a CC2520 based node.

Please have a look at Table 5 in the SimpliciTI Sample Applications User's Guide. The next to last line in that table shows that the MSP430F2618 + CC2520 sample code is provided for the SRF05 platform. Now, explore with Windows to your installed C:\SimpliciTI\Projects\Examples folder - the 4 sample applications for this platform are in the SRF05_MSP folder.
