CC1310: miniature helical PCB antenna for 868Mhz

Hello,

we have designed the custom board using miniature helical PCB antenna for 868Mhz. we have created the device for Helical antenna. we want long range communication(say 40mtrs indoor). we want to transmit and receive packet size of 100 Byte.

attached are the gerbers. we kindly request you to verify and suggest the changes needed to get long range communication.

we have also attached the screen shot of impedance matching(using APPCAD TOOL) done while designing the PCB.

Hi,

I recommend to put a PI Network (Antenna Matching Circuit) in between C10 and Antenna. It seems Series Component is missing. You can add 0 Ohm Resistor in Series in between L4 & C8. These components can be tuned on Prototype boards for Antenna matching. Antenna matching must be done on a Complete Unit (with Casing).
C15 can be removed.
Please refer to our Reference Design SWRC327 for more details.
Layout Looks OK.

we see that all reference designs are 4 layer. we are designing 2 layer board. we request you to kindly specify whether does it make any change in circuit or layout for antenna when designing 2 layer board.

The antenna only uses two layers in the 4-layer reference designs.

Yes, it looks OK to me.

Please note that L4 & C8 must be tuned on prototypes for Antenna matching.
