CC1101: CS Absolute Threshold, (AGCCtrl2 settings) for 433 MHz, MSK, 80 kbps (CC430F5137)

Part Number: CC1101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC430F5137,

Hi,

My customer wants to find a right settings for CS Absolute Threshold. Is it possible to publish tables like Table 25-15 and Table 25-16 in slau259e.pdf "25.3.3.6.4.1 CS Absolute Threshold" for 433 MHz, MSK, 80 kbps? Used chip = CC430F5137

 BR, Oleg

  • Are they going to use CC1101 or CC430? If the first, why referring to the CC430 datasheet when the same information is in the CC1101 datasheet.

Are they going to use 80 kbps MSK? If so, why? We only recommend MSK for the highest datarate, for 80 kbps they should use (G)FSK with the deviation set to 20 kHz. (modulation index 0.5)
  • 1. Customer used CC430. (I had to use CC1101 because with CC430 I can't select Sub1GHz forum for question, only MCU forums were available - it's E2E platform limitation). Both chips used the same radio, so it actually does not matter.
    2. They have already deploy system with this settings. MSK was used in previous generation of their produc (historical reasons).
  • Yes, the tables should be possible to use. Also see the following thread on how to set the registers:
