CC1101: Test modes for RF regulatory testing

Part Number: CC1101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2500, TEST2, MSP430F5528

I am looking for a way to put the CC1101 into the following modes for regulatory testing:

Continuous TX, modulated

Continuous TX, unmodulated

Change the TX channel

Continuous RX

Are the hooks built in to the processor in order to accomplish these tasks?  If yes, where do I find more information on them?

  • Continuous TX, modulated

See the register settings suggested by SmartRF Studio. Also see:

    Continuous TX, unmodulated:

See the register settings suggested by SmartRF Studio. Also see:

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1101 , MSP430F5528 , CC2500 , TEST2 Hi, I want to transmit continuous wave using cc1101 with a msp430f5528.Is it possible,is there any pin to do this ?

    Continuous RX:

Use SmartRF Studio to find the settings, strobe SRX.

    Change the TX channel:

    The safest way:

    - Go to IDLE, set new frequency, SCAL, strobe STX.

  • Got it.  Thanks.

I also need to know which signals need to be connected in order to control the board through a CC Debugger using SmartRF.  The Quick Start Guide only shows the DC, DD, CSn, power and ground.  However, the CC Debugger User's Guide suggests that the DC, DD, CSn, power and ground need to be hooked up as well as the three SPI lines.  Which is it?

    Thanks
