CC1125: Using CC1125 in 136...174 MHz frequency band

Part Number: CC1125

Hello! Question is aimed to CC1125 designers. We are planning to use CC1125 in 136...174 MHz frequency band.
We have already made test radiomodem samples. Made quite complete set of tests(sensetivity, selectivity, blocking performance - measurements are very close to datasheet).
In 160...164 MHz range found dead spot at 160 MHz due to the reference generator running at 40 MHz, but it is not scary.
Also we noticed unstable synthesizer work with LO_DIVIDER=24, but with LO_DIVIDER=20 it works stable down to 150 MHz.
  Test results are positive.
Device are ready to serial production. But we worry about features in 136.7...160 MHz (table 4.5 in datasheet) and 160...164 MHz band absence.
So, questions are:
1) There are comment about using 136.7-160 MHz band in datasheet table 4.5: "Contact TI for more information about the use of these frequency bands". We have already done it.
2) Why there is no 160-164 MHz band? Is it possible to use this band with allowable dead spot at 160 MHz?

  • The "Contact TI" means we have tested the divider that covers the frequency band in question but we have not made a EM that covers that bands and have therefore not tested RF performance.

Only the bands stated in the datasheet are supported. The tuning range of the VCO limits this. In many cases you will see than the chip operates outside the bands stated in the datasheet but it's not given that all chip are able to do it and/ or for all temperatures/ voltages.
