Hi!

Possible reasons not to use sensor controller to obtain the result from comparator:

1. Absence of any example in SCS for the comparator.

2. Sensor controller can be busy with other tasks.

3. The need to quickly change the threshold of the comparator.

4. If noRTOS comparator driver has ten lines of asm code, why should I install and study heavy and unclear SCS?

I would like to see an example of working with comparator registers and changing the threshold.

It's some examples in the SCS help how to use the various resources. See here:software-dl.ti.com/.../compa__0.html

If you open SCS and go to the "launchpad + ULP sense" and check the cap sense the reference is changed in this example.

I do not need ULP and SC, I need fast read of the comparator without interrupt and a fast change of the threshold.
Please show me how write and read the necessary registers.

Hi Orl,

if you need a comparator, you need SC.
A comparator is a part of AON domain.
If you find a faster way to communicate with a comparator, please share.

Hi Orl,

Your "driver" mockup seems to be something in the right direction. Just make sure to take care when doing the MUX0 and MUX4 settings as you could potentially end up shorting the device if doing this wrong. For example, if you intend to use MUX4 to compare two inputs, make sure MUX0 is set to "NC" and not for example VDD.

Internal voltage source as reference for COMPA max 1.6V and min 1.3V (via ADI_4_AUX_O_ADCREF1.VTRIM) or are others possible?

Hi Orl,

That would be the max and min values of the ACDREF1 control, these are connected to the fixed reference and there is no other options here in terms of the internal references that I'm aware of.
