CC1310: Contiki How to change the frequency of operation from 868 MHz to 433 MHz ?

Hi ,

I intend to change the frequency of operation in contiki-os from default value to 433 MHz as RF design on my module is for 433MHz.

Can some one suggest the steps to do this ?

I am not using contiki-ng yet.I found above link mentioning the details to define a new value DOT_15_4G_FREQUENCY_BAND_433 for DOT_15_4G_FREQUENCY_BAND_ID.

But the information seems to be partial to me.

I dont find any related MACROS to change in contiki-conf.h or project-conf.h

Can someone help on this ?

Just so I understood you correctly, you have managed to configure the frequency settings with 433 MHz, and now you'd like to tune the RF settings?

Yes Edvard, I managed to do it by following responses for my query on contiki-os github link.
I would like to understand more on parameters like :

whitenmode
frontendmode
biasmode

Also, as part of smartrf-settings.c file in contiki-os for cc13xx, i see below datastructures being populated:
1. overrides
2. rfc_CMD_PROP_RADIO_DIV_SETUP_t smartrf_settings_cmd_prop_radio_div_setup
3. rfc_CMD_FS_t smartrf_settings_cmd_fs
4. rfc_CMD_PROP_TX_ADV_t smartrf_settings_cmd_prop_tx_adv
5. rfc_CMD_PROP_RX_ADV_t smartrf_settings_cmd_prop_rx_adv

But the code exported by Smart RF studio has only datastructures 1, 2 & 3. Version I am using is 2.8.0
Does Datastructures : 4 & 5 also need any changes when changing frequency from 868 to 433 ?

I have retained overrides datastructure as it was earlier, only modified 2 & 3 datastructures only with the values exported from smart RF studio for 433 MHz, 50 kbps, 2-GFSK.

With this change, network is up but I am kind of lost.
Can you please suggest a good reading on these parameters to get a hold on it ?

Hi Gani,

Sorry for the late reply.

I highly recommend to check out Contiki-NG, github.com/.../contiki-ng, which is an actively developed and maintained fork of Contiki-OS.

You should not need to modify the whitenmode, frontendmode, and biasmode parameters.

RF settings exported from SmartRF Studio will not match structurally with RF settings used in Contiki-OS. CMD_PROP_TX and CMD_PROP_RX does not need to change for changing the frequency. You may need new overrides and CMD_PROP_RADIO_DIV_SETUP.

I missed this conversation.

I managed to get it worked with the default 470M support in contiki os itself.

Yes, definitely, I will be moving to contiki-ng soon.
