LAUNCHXL-CC1312R1: Issue in OAD device firmware upgrade.

I have created network using two CC1312R1 LAUNCHXL with the help of TI 15.4 Stack. I have connected one CC1312 with raspberry pi zero which will act as a gateway.

I am using TI 15.4 Stack Linux gateway application in raspberry pi and sensor code at the other CC1312 which is working perfectly.

My main concern is to upgrade firmware at the sensor side using Over the Air Download.

I copied "sensor_oad_cc1312r1lp.bin" image file which is generated by CCS into raspberry pi.

then I run the collector and gateway app on raspberry pi. I am attaching the snaps from collector and sensor below.

I located the file using "f" command and then send the update request with "u" command. I got this on terminal.

on completion I receive this

Now the Problem is after successfully receiving OAD Block the sensor board is not rebooting. It is not connecting to the network even after I reset it. It seems the older image has been erased but the new image hasn't been loaded. Hoping to receive positive response.

Hi Mitul,

Just to clarify, after the OAD completes and you perform a board reset, the sensor application doesn't boot normally?

Sensor board is initially loaded with "sensor_oad_cc1312r1lp " from ti 15.4 stack examples.

Are you sending the production image over OTA? You must generate a OTA-able image with OAD image tool before sending.

I am using sensor_oad_cc1312r1lp.bin image generated by CCS itself. I believe CCS uses OAD image tool to generate this production image.

Does it work if you try to OAD the following pre-compiled hexfile: <SDK>/examples/rtos/CC1312R1_LAUNCHXL/ti154stack/hexfiles/oad/sensor_oad_cc13x2lp_app_v2.bin

Thanks Severin,
I tried to OAD <SDK>/examples/rtos/CC1312R1_LAUNCHXL/ti154stack/hexfiles/oad/sensor_oad_cc13x2lp_app_v2.bin but the result is same it freezes after "OAD completed successfully".

Could be that the BIM versions are disagreeing. Could you flash the sensor device with the with the <SDK>/examples/rtos/CC1312R1_LAUNCHXL/ti154stack/hexfiles/oad/bim_extflash_cc1352lp.hex

Thanks for the suggestion Severin,

I have already flashed it with the " <SDK>/examples/rtos/CC1312R1_LAUNCHXL/ti154stack/hexfiles/oad/bim_extflash_cc1352lp.hex " then I tried OAD with OAD <SDK>/examples/rtos/CC1312R1_LAUNCHXL/ti154stack/hexfiles/oad/sensor_oad_cc13x2lp_app_v2.bin which gave me the same result.

Hi Severin,
I flashed cc1312r1 with sensor_oad_cc1312r1lp.hex with my PC , initially it is connected with the collector then I reset the sensor board.
I noticed that on reset, the sensor board is not connecting with the collector.
I guess the same problem occurs while OAD, after successfully completion of OAD it is resetting the board and that is why it is not connecting with the collector again.

Hello there,
I'm also having the same issue, when I'm loading the firmware from the PC it is working properly but while trying to load with OAD It is not upgrading my new firmware or reset the board.
Does anyone from the TI have the idea about this because I couldn't find anything about this.

Thanks for your help. I flashed cc1312r1 with sensor_oad_cc1312r1lp.hex then I flashed CC1312R1lp with <SDK>/examples/rtos/CC1312R1_LAUNCHXL/ti154stack/hexfiles/oad/bim_extflash_cc1352lp.hex and this way it worked.
now I can successfully OAD and the sensor board is getting reconnecting after completion of process.
