CC1310: Change the default 433M to 470-510Mband, how to modify in 15.4 Stack?

Part Number: CC1310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1352P

Hi,

Any guidance to change the frequency band in 15.4Stack? Target frequency band is 470-510M.

From below link, seem to we provided a solution,Can you send this ref project to me  too?

  • Hi

As you probably know, the TI 15.4 stack has a specific set of PHYs the stack can be configured to run, and we do not support that customers can changes these settings. I do not know what SW was made for the customer in the case you referred to. If you need any modifications to be done to the official release, you would need to contact the Apps team directly with your request, and explain what you need and why (provide info about the business case).

  • Siri,
470-510M is very popular frequency in China and has more wider range to support more frequency points than current only 7. Actually, I did some test and successfully switched to 470M, so far, no problem found. From the settings pespective, 433 vs 470, only has very small difference. Please kindly let me know if you found something risk using like this. thanks.
  • You should be able to change the center frequency by modifying the value of "MAC_GENERIC_CHINA_433_BAND_MODE_1_CENTER_FREQ_KHZ" but please note that by making these changes we cannot guarantee that the devices will perform as expected since we only test the software stack with the predefined frequencies
  • Hi ,

It seems that 802.15.4v-2017 add PHY for the 470–510 MHz band in China.
Will this PHY be added to TI 15.4 stack officially ?
If yes, what is your schedule ?

We get more and more requests about the support for 470 band.
Comparing to LoRa, the max. Tx power is 17dBm in 470 band, however, CC131x and CC1352P can only reach 10dBm.
  • Hi Kevin,

I am not 100% sure if there are plans to add support for 470 - 510 MHz band in the future but fortunately it is possible for developers to enable this frequency band as mentioned in this thread.

Regardless of this, I will pass your feedback to the respective people for this feature to be considered for future releases of the stack if it isn't already being considered.

    Thanks for your feedback.
