There are two problem statement:

1. what is the best way to implement 500+ nodes wake up simultaneously to push 30 bytes of data to server thru gateway device. Whether any gateway reference design with example available?

2. whether we can keep each node in listen mode so that RF gateway can communicate asynchronously. Node has to be battery operated and last atleast 8 yrs with 4Ah battery with every 24 hrs data push.

1. I don’t think it’s feasible to wake up 500+ nodes and send 30 bytes simultaneously.
2. It’s not possible to keep RX always on and the battery life can last such a long time using 4AH battery.

Thank you for the response. I need to understand whether drive by system can be designed with CC1310. there would be handheld unit polling data from battery operated node. But still this case, node has to be wake up all the time. Is it possible to wake up node every 5 sec to check any external RF device trying to connect.

Doesn’t “wake up node every 5 sec“ mean doing polling every 5 seconds?

Yes. Waking up node every 5 sec to check for any external RF reader trying to read. not sure if this would work to last battery atleast 8 years.

You can try to use to estimate battery life.

1. As YiKai points out it's not possible having 500+ nodes transmitting data to one device simultaneously.
