RTOS/LAUNCHXL-CC1350: How to run code in Debug version only

I have just followed your advice but I do not see any of the messages in the console, that use to come from printf (which now is a System_printf) in Debug mode. I am using ccs 8. What should I do to see thesee messages ?

Thank you for your answer. The document states "The buffer can be viewed by looking at the ROV → SysMin → OutputBuffer. " How can I reach ROV menu in CCS v8 ?

OK. I have found how to use ROV for CCS v8 here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Runtime_Object_View_(ROV)
I am inspecting SysMin->Output Buffer but nothing comes up.

My project is based on the rfWsnNodeBleAdv_CC1350 project and when I imported it ccs created a project called tirtos_builds_CC1350..
and there I edited the releases.cfg file as follows:

/* ================ System configuration ================ */
var System = xdc.useModule('xdc.runtime.System');
var SysMin = xdc.useModule('xdc.runtime.SysMin');

System.abortFxn = System.abortSpin;
System.SupportProxy = SysMin;

Is this correct ?

Additional information : I am not compiling with GNU compiler.

Hi Cristian,

The compiler type does not matter. 

Take a look at ROV->System->Raw to make sure the SysMin provider is plugged in. Here's a picture showing it with SysCallBack. I used the ROV Classic, but the Runtime Object View works also.

Can you put a simply System_printf("hello world\n"); in main() and execute. It should show up in ROV->SysMin->OutputBuffer. Make sure to not have called System_flush (since this flushes the output to the CCS console).

I followed your instructions and found that actually SysCallback was used because it was set as proxy at some point later in my rather large release.cfg. So I corrected the file and now the System_printfs work.

So the problem was that the SysCallback was set as proxy somewhere later in my .cfg file.

I have an additional question. What happens to System_printf() in release mode ? I actually needed a printf function that will not be called in release mode.
