CC1310: EMC related documentation

Part Number: CC1310

We have a product based on CC1310, and going to do EMC certifications ( EN 300220-2). The certification has its own world with the RED directive. The certification houses says that TI should already have some certification for the SoC chip. Could a TI employee please provide me the existing certifications and documentation for the CC1310 chip?

  • It is important to note that a certification is valid for a system, not a chip. Hence a certification made for system A will not be valid or relevant for system B.

We do ETSI certification on the launchpads but since this have a different hardware and software solution that a customer solution we don't share the results since the results can't be used for anything.
  • Hi TER, thank you.

I understand very well that the certifications are hardware specific.

Certification house sounded like chip may have its own certification to decrease the tests regarding RED directive related measurements. I've talked with another company that handles such tasks, they also asked the same question.

At the end of the certification specification, there is a form to fill regarding how the radio part of CC1310 works. I assume their aim is to get the info so that they wouldn't need to extend their work (so the cost). There are questions like, power spectral density, modulation, medium utilization, etc.

Does TI already provide information for such questions. I understand some parameters would be wireless stack related, but some are chip specific like (max/minx TX etc.), it'd be very convenient to have the data.

The other question, does TI provide any test firmware that can be used for CE/EN related certification tests? (rather than smart RF option?)
  • The answers to the questions in the ETSI certification document could be found in the datasheet or the technical reference manual.

For "power spectral density, modulation, medium utilization, etc. " this will depend on how you have set up the device and are user specific.
