Hi all,

i am just wondering about stack of TI15.4, Security keys are exchanged in between collector and sensor at very initial time in FH mode in CC1352R. After that is there any term like after specified time it will exchange the new random generated key.

Security i checked using wireshark. so i removed the security and on wireshark i saw the data which is i am sending. but with security i am unable to see the data i used so many types of keys. but i am unable to decrypt data in wireshark.

so that i am asking that 12:34:56:..... this key i used, but this is pre-shared, so after joining collector will generate new random key and it will be exchanged in between collector to sensor and after that communication will happen with newly generated key?

Is there any term like this in CC1352 example?

Hi Ryan,

By studying Device Commissioning process, i got that its exchanging the newly generated keys for encryption and decryption.

is this exchanging key and newly generation of key is handled at MAC layer( Data Link Layer) or at Application layer?

But all those description is given for Collector_sm, and Sensor_sm. is the same security Commissioning is used in the collector and sensor example of CC1352R?

I am Using TI 15.4 Stack - simplelink_cc13x2_sdk_2_20_00_71 so in this one where i can get the Collector_sm and Sensor_SM examples? OR its available in updated SDK's?

---> Yes i checked in the simplelink_cc13x2_26x2_sdk_3_10_01_11 SDK Collector_SM example is available, But currently i am using simplelink_cc13x2_sdk_2_20_00_71 so don't think so secure Commissioning is there?

So its always changing that keys - as a Application layer developer, can i able to see those keys and put it in wireshark so i cant decrypt collector data.

Because i used

Thanks for your document, it clears my all doubts.

Because i am using older version of SDK so that security commissioning things are not available in that SDK - simplelink_cc13x2_sdk_2_20_00_71

all security commissioning are available in the latest SDK.

and i got the results also with wireshark with the 12:34:56:... this KEY. its not changing the key dynamically.

Anil,

Please keep in mind that version 3.10 of the SimpleLink CC13X2 / CC26X2 SDK is the first production ready version of the software for the CC1312R, CC1352R, CC2642R and CC2652R devices. It is required to operate on Rev E post-production silicon.

Hi Ryan,

yes, what we have done here is that, we are going with simplelink_cc13x2_sdk_2_20_00_71 this SDK and REV C hardware boards. so that connection issues, Re-connection issues are there in FH mode(May be). so we switched from FH to Non beacon. in Non beacon we are not getting such problems.

According you i have to use REV E boards with 3.1 SDK?

Yes Anil, you have to use Rev E with SIMPLELINK-CC13X2-26X2-SDK v2.40 and above, as noted on the tool description and software download pages. https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/sub-1-ghz/f/156/t/767774

Okay Ryan,

I will check with REV E boards with 3.1 SDK and then only we will get the correct results.

For now i don't have a boards of REV E. once i will get then i will start working on it.
