CC1200: Can this part be configured for "on-the-fly" changes to output power?

Part Number: CC1200

Hi,

I am posting this question on behalf of my customer.

We are currently designing a new transmitter based on CC1200. We want to know if we can configure it for “on-the-fly” changes to output power. In its standard configurations (recommended by SmartRF Studio), it refuses to change output power while a transmission is ongoing. We don’t want to add external control of output power since the primary goal of this new transmitter is minimum size.

Thanks,
Lauren

  • From the information I found it's possible to change the output power of CC112x on the fly but some small changes (actually to fix a bug) was made on CC1200 which didn't make it possible on this device. Meaning that a out power change will only take effect if CC1200 is going to IDLE and then back to TX.

Nut not sure if I understand "We don’t want to add external control of output power since the primary goal of this new transmitter is minimum size." since the CC1200 has to be controlled by a MCU.

  • Got it - thank you!
