LAUNCHXL-CC1352R1: Need a working FreeRTOS Port!

Hi,

I know FreeRTOS is not officially supported, but I thought its worth asking if anyone has managed to get FreeRTOS working on CC1352R1 or knows of a CC1352R1 port.

I've spent the last week working through issues with the official FreeRTOS M4F port (which technically should work on CC1352R1). I'm stuck with a heap of CFSR:SKTERR (Stacking From Exception Errors). I've also tried the CC3220 port as well as the official FreeRTOS M4 and some other's from the web. With all my experience I can't prevent the CC1352R1 generating a fault during task switching and therefore I suspect the issues are much deeper than just the task switching code.

If anyone has any ideas, links or otherwise that would be great.

Hi Stomp,

Do you plan on using any software stacks (BLE, TI 15.4, etc.)?

Hi,

The reason for FreeRTOS / OpenRTOS / SafeRTOS is we've invested several thousand man hours into testing and developing our libraries for TI parts across devices like CC13x0, CC26x0, AM3359, CC32xx and RM57.

We are able to run most of the SimpleLink on the desktop (FreeRTOS, C# + .dll) for CI testing and we want to continue that with the CC13x2 parts.

We will make use of the TI stacks in the future (BLE5, 15.4 MAC, Z-Stack) and we hope we can use either the Driver Porting Layers and / or iCall for interface with those stacks.

Thanks for the link, we did have a crack at FreeRTOS on CC1310, but there was just not enough FLASH to make it usable.

HI stomp,

Unfortunately the software stacks, like the BLEStack, are essentially intertwined with TI-RTOS. You won't be able to separate the two from each other so if you do intend on using them then I don't think using FreeRTOS will be possible.
